The calm before everything changes.
There’s a stillness to these last weeks — the anticipation, the quiet. We photograph it in our private Exchange District studio, unhurried and entirely on your terms.
Soon the house will never be this quiet again. First, this.

The anticipation, held still.
The way you held your belly, the light through the window, the hush of these last weeks before your world grew.
We photograph maternity in our private studio at 68 Albert St, a heritage space in the Exchange District with twelve-foot windows and light that does most of the work for us. It’s quiet, it’s yours for the session, and nobody is walking past.
The approach is gentle and unhurried. We guide the posing so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands, and the result still feels like you — images that carry the feeling of this time, not just the look of it.
One day you’ll show them the photo. This is the one.

A Relaxed, Flattering Session
We guide you through easy, natural posing and beautiful light, so you feel comfortable and look every bit as radiant as you should.
Guided, Never Stiff
Editorial doesn’t have to mean forced. We direct enough that you always know what to do, and stop well before it starts to feel posed.
Every Image Hand-Retouched
Every photograph you take home is retouched by hand by our retoucher — skin, stray hairs, creased fabric, distractions in the frame. Refined, never altered, and never billed as an extra.
He made me feel super comfortable, provided guidance when needed, and made the whole experience really fun and positive. I loved the finished photos, and appreciate the time and effort he puts into the editing process.Leah M · Maternity Session
Frequently asked.
When is the best time for a maternity session?+
We usually recommend somewhere between 28 and 34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round and you’re still comfortable. That’s a guideline rather than a rule — sessions on either side of that window photograph just as well. Tell us your due date and we’ll find the week that works for you.
Where do maternity sessions take place?+
In our private studio at 68 Albert St, in Winnipeg’s Exchange District. It’s a heritage space with high ceilings and tall windows, closed to everyone but you for the length of your session. Studio light also means the weather and the season never change your plans.
What should I wear for a maternity session?+
We’ll talk wardrobe through with you well before the day, and the studio wardrobe is yours to draw on. Every session is a minimum of three looks, so bring a few pieces you love alongside anything you’d like to try here — flowing fabrics and fitted, structured shapes both photograph beautifully.
Can my partner or my children be in the photos?+
Yes, and we’d encourage it. This is a family story. We usually start with portraits of you alone, then bring your partner and any older siblings in for part of the session.
How long does a maternity session take?+
About two hours. That’s deliberately unhurried — enough time to move through a minimum of three looks, change without rushing, sit down, and take a break whenever you need one.
What happens after the session?+
About two weeks later you’ll come back to the studio for your Reveal. We go through the finished, fully retouched images together on a large viewing screen, talk about which ones belong on a wall and which belong in an album, and you choose your collection from there. You’re never left alone with a link and a hundred files to sort through.
What can we order?+
Digital image bundles, framed and mounted wall art, and albums and folio books. We’ll show you everything at your Reveal, with our honest read on what suits your images and your space.
How much retouching is included?+
All of it. Every image you take home is retouched by hand — skin, under-eye shadows, flyaway hairs, creased fabric, anything distracting in the background. It’s the standard, not an upgrade, and the intent is always to refine rather than to alter.
How do we book?+
Start with the maternity inquiry form and tell us your due date. Our maternity guide arrives in your inbox straight away, and we’ll call you within two business hours to plan the session and hold your date.
Let’s capture the wait.
